Summer of cancellations
Expect the summer of 2008 to have lots of cancellations. The FAA has been conducting an audit of mandated repairs. The result is the mass cancellations of the last few days.
Another audit began March 30 and is expected to conclude on June 30. The goal is to confirm that airlines have done the work the FAA has required. The current audit answers that question with a no.
If you are flying this summer, you should have a back up plan for your travels. Look at your problems going and your problems coming back. Insurance may cover some of your losses, but be sure you know what is covered.
